Our Approach

Athena Olives is based in Waipara, North Canterbury, New Zealand, and is proudly owned and operated by Nic Jackson and Jackie Breen. We embarked on our journey managing the grove in 2022.

Our oil production is modest at the moment as we regenerate the grove, transitioning the farm to organic and regenerative farming methods.

We have lots of goals and aspirations with what we want to produce from our grove, with EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) just the beginning. Using specific farming practices we want to be more than sustainable, focussing on improving and regenerating the land and ecology, working with natural systems to promote resilience for nature, and the people who live and work there.
